Shops
The Hibiscus Hospice has three shops, Orewa, Whangaparaoa and Silverdale where used furniture, clothing and household goods are sold. It also has Francesca's in Silverdale, a specialist store for pre-loved women's high fashion labels. These shops are our main source of income and are staffed almost entirely by volunteers who usually do one 4-hour shift per week. Great camaraderie develops between the team members and if you are reasonably fit and active and enjoy meeting people then assisting in one of our shops is a very practical way to help hospice.

Fundraising
Fundraising is a very important aspect of hospice operations. Without funding we would have no Centre to work from, no professional service to offer and no equipment to lend to patients. Volunteers assist with a wide range of special events and projects. Involvement is likely to be for short bursts of concentrated activity.
